Our Client is a growing business with an encouraging team environment that appreciates and rewards hard, consistent and diligent work. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable/Payroll Officer to join their team. Would suit someone who has had exposure to the construction industry.

About You:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience in a high volume environment

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll: Manage employee onboarding (medical, induction, paperwork), process wages, superannuation, and taxes, and maintain employee database, leave accruals, and notices.
  • Uniforms: Order uniforms annually and as needed for all employees.
  • Training: Coordinate bookings, maintain training registers, and update employee competency folders.
  • Workers Compensation: Maintain incident records, ensure reports are completed, and facilitate occupational rehabilitation as per regulations.
  • Incident Reporting: Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of workplace incidents.
  • Phone & Devices: Handle incoming calls and maintain company phone/device registers.
  • Subcontractors: Maintain subcontractor insurance records.
  • Functions: Assist with organising company events, including venue bookings, menus, and entertainment.
  • First Aid & Fire Extinguishers: Ensure first aid supplies and fire extinguisher inspections are up to date.
  • Plant & Vehicle Records: Maintain plant and motor vehicle servicing records.
  • General Administration: Assist with office duties, maintain petty cash, manage site registers, order business cards, and support on-site inductions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of payroll and worker's compensation processes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to perform effectively within the Construction and Industrial sectors.
